Yes, that's me

I am Sophie De Coppel , a Belgian girl growing up in Ninove. I am 14 years old and I have two brothers, one is 10 years old and the other is at the age of 16. I have got a dog Tobias and a cat Janneke. I’m going to the school Sint-Aloysius  in Ninove. There I attend Latin in the third grade of high school. In my free time, I go to the art academy and the music academy. I love drawing and painting. In the music academy, I play the piano. Actually I don’t like doing so, but my parents don't let me stop. So I don't have any choice. Art academy is my true hobby!

My best friend is Femke. She is also 14 years old. We are friends since the kinder garden. So she is my best friend for already 12 years! Just as me she likes to be active. She also likes competition. When we play a board game , she always wants to win. That’s sometimes really annoying. I have also four other best friends Hannelore, Noor, Phaedra and Katrien. In their company I can always be myself. I met Hannelore and Phaedra a year ago.  I know Noor and Katrien since the third year of primary school. All of them have a place in my heart forever. 

 Like the most of you, I have a hobby. I go since 2 years to the art academy in ‘de kuip’,every Friday from 5:30 to 9 o’clock. So that’s about 3 hours painting, cutting and pasting, chatting (especially chatting!) ,drawing, … and a pause of 30 minutes. It’s my favorite hobby because I do it in a very nice group of teenagers who have about the same age as me. Naturally it’s also my favorite because I love to do art. That’s not a big surprise ;)

Last weekend, I celebrated my godfather’s birthday. He is now 50 years old, but he’s still very healthy and energetic. My cousin, his daughter, makes always fun of him because of his age. So she would not let this opportunity pass. I also celebrated my brother’s ‘heilig vormsel’. For both of the celebrations we went to the restaurant ‘ de heeren van Liedekercke’ . It’s a very good restaurant: it’s cozy and not too expensive ,the food is also delicious. We left very late, so I was a bit tired the next day. But I enjoyed the evening very well.

I’m really looking forward to the upcoming summer holidays. Unfortunately, I first have to do the exams. but after that, I have 2 months of freedom! My parents are arranging that we are going to visit some family members. I first thought:’ Oh no, that’s the most boring thing we could do during the summer holidays!’ but when I heard that we are going to viste our family in Canada, I got really excited! We are going to see my granddad’s brother, his children and their children. I hope it will be a lot of fun. Wish me luck!
